Privacy policy

This policy applies to SpertonAcademy. It explains what information we collect, why, and what rights you have.

Data controller

Sperton is responsible for the processing of personal data. Questions can be sent to erik.mellebye-giertsen@sperton.com.

What we collect

When you sign up: name, email, phone number if provided, country, email language, field of expertise, LinkedIn profile if provided, and whether you want emails about new courses and assignments. Your password is stored encrypted, and we cannot see it. We also store when you last logged in.

When you send an inquiry: name, email, phone, what you write in the form, and details related to your choice, such as a delivery address for a book or a preferred date for a meeting room.

Why

We use the information to give you access to the portal, respond to inquiries, deliver services you order, send reminders if you have not visited for a while, and, if you have agreed to it, send you information about new courses, consultant assignments and offers from Sperton.

If you have not visited the portal for 30 days, we send a reminder, and possibly one more after 60 days. After that, we send no more. Reminders contain suggestions based on which courses, chapters and templates you have used. Offers for paid services, such as a CV review or a book discount, are only included if you have agreed to emails about new courses, consultant assignments and offers. You can turn off reminders and withdraw consent on My page, or via the link in the email.

Who processes the information for us

The portal runs on services from Netlify (website), Cloudflare (database) and Resend (email delivery). They process information on behalf of Sperton.

Sperton uses the recruitment system Teamtailor. If you are already registered there as a candidate, we link your SpertonAcademy account to your candidate profile using your email or phone number. The profile is then tagged to show that you use SpertonAcademy, and gets a short, weekly updated note about which courses you have passed and when you were last active. If you are not registered in Teamtailor, we may send you one email after 7 days with information on how to register.

How long

Account information is stored for as long as you have an account. Inquiries are stored for as long as needed to follow them up. You can ask at any time for your account and information to be deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and you can withdraw consent to emails at any time. Contact us at the email address above. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country, such as Datatilsynet in Norway or IMY in Sweden.
